STA is the responsible Swedish authority for planning, building and operation of transport infrastructure in Sweden. A three year national assignment in the field of greening of transport by commission of the Swedish government has been finished in December 2012. Vast experience from numerous EU funded projects in the fields of green corridors, ITS, Intermodality, TEN-T and more. In the EMMA project Trafikverket will be thematic leader for infrastructure.

Sweden implemented the EU regulations for inland waterways (IWW) recently which opens up opportunities to build new logistics systems that are based on inland navigation.
