More than 300 participants from all around the Baltic Sea and beyond attended the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme Conference held in Lübeck, Germany, on the 9th and 10th of April to talk about project achievements in making the Baltic Sea region more innovative, better accessible and sustainable.

Port of Hamburg Marketing was part of the story and participated in one of the sixteen parallel sessions dedicated to different thematic fields. These sessions allowed to learn together about tangible project and project platform results bringing positive developments to the region. The project results were discussed in the event though it is clear that "together and beyond borders we can do more", as Susanne Sherrer, Director of the Managing Authority / Joint Secretariat of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme, concluded.

The meeting was followed by very positive news the next day: nine extension stage projects had been approved by the Monitoring Committee, EMMA Extension being one of them. The EMMA Extension project concentrats on enhancing inland waterway transport in the Baltic Sea Region. It strives to further enhance freight mobility and logistics in the Baltic Sea region.
